Alumni Board of Governors

The Pritzker Alumni Board of Governors oversees all alumni events and programing for Pritzker College Prep. They fundraise for, plan and implement events, reunions and ways for alumni to engage with current students and faculty.

About the Board

The members of the Alumni Board of Governors are selected through a rigorous application and selection process annually in June. Two representatives are chosen for each graduating class, leadership roles are chosen at the beginning of each term by board members. Each board member still enrolled in school receives a book scholarship as a stipend for their participation. 2010

  • Juan Esquivel
    Juan Pablo Esquivel was born and raised in the Hermosa Community of Chicago, Illinois. After graduating from Pritzker College Prep, he pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology / Anthropology and Spanish with a minor in Latin American Studies from Lake Forest College. Upon graduating, he returned to the Hermosa Community and joined AmeriCorps program called City Year. Through this program he was placed at Kelvyn Park High School. He is currently the Behavioral Coordinator helping to establish a positive learning environment that promotes a high level of achievement for a diverse population of students in the classroom. He is very passionate about urban education and helping the community find opportunities to accomplish their goals. Juan Pablo strongly believes that education is the most powerful weapon which one can use to change the world.  In his free time, Juan loves to read, check out different authentic food restaurants, and play soccer. He also loves to dedicate time to his two younger brothers and two younger sisters.
     
  • Andrea Rodriguez
    Andrea Rodriguez was born and raised in the north west side of Chicago. She is currently attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign majoring in Enterprise Systems Engineering with a focus on supply chain, logistics, and manufacturing. She is expected to graduate in May 2015 and is aspiring for a career in supply chain and logistics. She hopes to eventually return to school and attain her MBA but for now she wants to gain experience in her field.  In her spare time she enjoys going to the movies, shopping, only for good deals, and traveling. At school she has been involved with the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and is a founding member of Alpha Pi Sigma Sorority Inc., Xi Chapter. She hopes to continue her involvement in these organizations and reaching out to minority students wanting to achieve a degree in the STEM fields.

  • Vick Manjarrez
    Born and raised in the mean streets of Chicago, Vick Manjarrez grew up to become the first member of his family to attend college. Having graduated from the Pritzker College Prep 2011 class, Vick took a smart road and attended Triton College in order save money. After attending Triton for two years, Vick transferred to the University of Illinois at Chicago, better known as "UIC". He is currently a senior, majoring in Economics. During the Fall semester of 2014, Vick pledged and proudly became a proud member of the fraternity Sigma Alpha Mu. Vick enjoys hanging out with friends, watching/playing sports, dancing, fishing, among many other things. He hopes to graduate soon and commence his professional career.

 

2012

  • Denise Esquivel
    Pritzker alumna of Class 2012 Denise M. Esquivel was born and raised in the Hermosa community in Chicago, Illinois, the second eldest child of Mexican parents. She is currently attending Lake Forest College where she is majoring in Spanish with a minor in Latin American Studies. She is a coordinator for the Teen Reach youth program at the McCormick-Tribune YMCA. Given that, Denise loves to work with the youth of her neighborhood; her plans post-college graduation involve working with youth, where she will be able to give back to her community. Her hobbies include playing soccer, acting, drawing, and creative writing. She also loves sweets!

2013

  • Manuel De Jesus
    Manuel De Jesus was born and raised in the Hermosa Community of Chicago, Illinois. He is currently attending the University of Notre Dame where he is majoring in American Studies and minoring in Journalism. After graduating, Manuel is looking to work in sports journalism. He is currently a sports writer for Notre Dame's student newspaper, The Observer. He has covered Notre Dame men's basketball, softball, track and field, men's tennis and boxing. He also writes on Notre Dame sports for Fansided online and hosts Irish Sports Radio. While at Pritzker, he was a part of the competition choir, varsity ultimate team and the varsity football team. Last summer, Manuel worked with Jr. Americorps and was assigned to work at Pritzker. He worked with Mr. McCabe with alumni coordination and was a part of the football coaching staff during training camp. Whenever he has free time, Manuel enjoys playing guitar and participating in intramural sports at Notre Dame.
     
  • Aimee Pedroza
    Aimee Pedroza was born and raised in the city of Chicago, Illinois. She is currently attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is majoring in Psychology. Aimee plans to minor in Spanish as soon as she is done with her psychology major requirements. During her years in Pritzker, Aimee took AP and honors classes. She was involved in many extra-curricular activities like Competition Choir, Student Council, Operation Snowball, and Math Team. Aimee loves to read books, sing, write, and dance. She plans to work as a social worker or become a teacher outside the country. You can find Aimee roaming around the Bucktown area of Chicago or vacationing in Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco, Mexico.
 
 

2014

  • Brandon Arias
    Brandon Arias was born in Evanston, Illinois but raised in Chicago. From a plethora of universities he had been accepted to, he decided that he would attend Northwestern University. Brandon is currently studying to major in Computer Science to specialize in artificial intelligence. Besides the academic rigor, he  puts time aside to play alto saxophone, to create events for all Northwestern students, and to explore other opportunities that foster growth. His aspiration in live is simple, broad, yet difficult: to find a hobby that would fulfill him daily. You can find Brandon either studying in the multicultural house, playing a competitive video game with his roommate in his dorm, or rebooting on caffeine at Norris's Starbucks.
     
  • Janet Baca
    Graduated Pritzker College Prep ‘14 with honors for being in the top 10. MCJROTC leader at Pritzker College Prep for four years and is currently in the organization Latinas Unidas at Agnes Scott College. Recipient of the full tuition Posse Foundation Scholarship for leadership. Worked in the alumni department in the summer of 2014 and is currently the vice president of the Alumni Board of Governors. In addition, worked as a teacher assistant for the MCJROTC program at Pritzker College Prep. Intended major is Political Science with a minor in Marketing/Business. Seeks for the empowerment of the Latino community in Georgia. She is excited to work with others as well as serve as a mentor.
